Building a Growth Mindset

I started this blog with the intention of not only building literary scholars, but children who developed into truly whole people.

But I didn’t have the right tools, nor was I as attached to this idea as I thought I was.

But I came upon this idea that children need to develop a growth mindset, a “can do” attitude and an ability to see the “bigger picture.”

So here we are…hope you enjoy this journey with me.

This website will serve as a tool and resource for parents, teacher and anyone looking to find new ways to aid in the development of children and their journey to becoming adults.

With that said, I found Class Dojo Big Ideas,5 minute online exercises where they introduce kids to the idea that your brain is like a muscle you need to strengthen to grow. I love it.

Check it out, and tell me what you think.

BB Book Club Meet-up 06-15-14

I am excited to announce we will be starting our online book club Sunday June 15th! We have four books that we will feature in June. Look for an invitation via Google hangout, and we will also stream this event live.

Make sure that I am your ambassador first

Babies 0-3 – Bear in a square

Toddlers 4-6 – The Animal Boogie

Children – 7-12 – Chandra’s Magic Light

We will read Where the Wild things are together so no need to buy it.

I will eventually turn this book club into a scholarship organization, so all proceeds of your purchases from Barefoot books will go to that. I will keep you all updated on the process/progress!

REVIEW: The Animal Boogie

I can’t say enough about this book. It’s fun, it’s playful and my kids love it. The publishers dedication to creating a multicultural audience is one of the main reasons why I have become an ambassador for the publishing company. So Shake, swing, sway, and boogie your way through this book. It truly is a great read for babies and children.
